Introduction
The versatile Rigaku NEX QC series of EDXRF spectrometers delivers routine elemental measurements across a diverse range of matrices — from homogeneous liquids of any viscosity to solids, thin films, alloys, slurries, powders and pastes.
Especially designed and engineered for heavy industrial use, whether on the plant floor or in remote field environments, the superior analytical power, flexibility and ease-of-use of the NEX QC series add to its broad appeal for an ever expanding range of applications, including exploration, research, RoHS inspection, and education, as well as industrial and production monitoring applications.
The NEX QC with its small footprint and light weight of 16kgs, it is well suited for portable mining laboratories.

Measures
With a silicon PIN diode detector, the NEX QC offers the best sensitities in the light matricies such as liquids and wood samples. Some examples include:
Liquid fertilisers – K & P
Biodiesel, Oil – S & Cl
Lubricant additives – Mo
Paint – Ti, Si
Solvents – Fe
With liquid samples the NEX QC can use the UltraCarry accessory. This allows liquid sample droplets to be concentrated to provide better detection levels by up to 3-5 times. This is ideal for volatile samples.
The NEX QC can be used for wood & timber analysis. Examples include:
CCA addition – Cu, Cr, As
Penta addition – Cl
ACZA addition – Cu, As, Zn
IPBC addition – I
Other examples of solid sample analysis include:
Ore analysis – Fe, Cu, Zr, Ru
Metal alloys – Al, Fe, Cu, Zn
