NEX QC II

This second generation model is a low cost entry level model that has been redesigned with upgraded optics and electronics, improved detector sensitivity and protection, redesigned touchscreen interface and better safety features. All fitted into a smaller lighter footprint.

Specifically designed for routine production quality control applications, the new model has replaced the PIN diode detector with a more sensitive silicon drift detector with a larger active area yielding better sensitivity by approx. 2 fold.  The detector window has also been improved with the new graphene membrane.

Instrument sample presentation has many options including single large area sample profiling, sample spinning or 5 or 6 sample auto-loader.

With the new high resolution touch display, data presentation is sharper and the better layout, can make for a faster data entry and retrieval. Added connectivity means data can be downloaded to a network or LIMS system.

Safety has been upgraded to include a stronger sample compartment door with dual locking mechanism and high visibility instrument operation

Applications

  • With a silicon PIN diode detector, the NEX QC offers the best sensitities in the light matricies such as liquids and wood samples. Some examples include:
  • Liquid fertilisers – K & P
  • Biodiesel, Oil – S & Cl
  • Lubricant additives – Mo
  • Paint – Ti, Si
  • Solvents – Fe
  • With liquid samples the NEX QC can use the UltraCarry accessory. This allows liquid sample droplets to be concentrated to provide better detection levels by up to 3-5 times. This is ideal for volatile samples.
  • The NEX QC can be used for wood & timber analysis. Examples include:
  • CCA addition – Cu, Cr, As
  • Penta addition – Cl
  • ACZA addition – Cu, As, Zn
  • IPBC addition – I
  • Other examples of solid sample analysis include:
  • Ore analysis – Fe, Cu, Zr, Ru
  • Metal alloys – Al, Fe, Cu, Zn
